His question at the last supper: HOW WILL YOU SHOW YOURSELF TO US, NOT THE WORLD?
The Lord's answer to him: WE WILL COME AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH HIM
The subject is listed among the twelve apostles under more than one name, called Thaddaeus and Lebbaeus, and named by Luke as Judas the son of James, to distinguish him from Judas Iscariot.
He is remembered chiefly for a single question he asked in the upper room on the night of the last supper.
When Jesus promised to manifest Himself to those who loved and obeyed Him, the subject asked, Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?
Jesus answered that if anyone loves Him and keeps His word, the Father will love him, and they will come to him and make their home with him, while the world that does not love Him cannot receive this.
So through the subject's honest question the Lord gave a rich promise of His indwelling presence with all who love Him. The subject was numbered with the Twelve and gathered with them after the ascension to await the Spirit.
