What she asked for her two sons: THAT THEY MIGHT SIT AT HIS RIGHT AND LEFT IN HIS KINGDOM
What she brought to the tomb at dawn: SPICES, THAT SHE MIGHT GO AND ANOINT HIM
The subject was the wife of Zebedee and mother of the apostles James and John. A woman of Galilee, she followed Jesus and ministered to Him along with Mary Magdalene and the other women.
On one occasion she came to Jesus with her sons and knelt, asking that in His kingdom they might sit one at His right hand and one at His left. Jesus answered that such places were not His to grant, and that greatness comes through serving.
When Jesus was crucified, the subject was among the women who stood watching from a distance, having followed Him from Galilee and provided for Him. She did not flee as the men had, but kept the painful vigil.
After the Sabbath, very early on the first day of the week, the subject went with Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, bringing spices to anoint the body of Jesus, wondering who would roll away the stone.
They found the stone already rolled back and a young man in white who told them He had risen and was going before them to Galilee. The subject stands among the first witnesses of the resurrection, faithful from Galilee to the garden tomb.
