How they built under threat: A TOOL IN ONE HAND, A WEAPON IN THE OTHER
The subject, cupbearer to the Persian king, heard that Jerusalem lay in ruins and its wall broken down. He wept, fasted, and prayed, then asked the king's leave to rebuild the city of his fathers, and was granted it.
Arriving in Jerusalem, the subject inspected the ruined wall by night, then rallied the people, saying, Let us rise up and build. They set their hands to the good work.
