His confession when reason returned: THE MOST HIGH RULES THE KINGDOM OF MEN
The subject, king of Babylon, carried Judah into exile and brought the vessels of the temple to his own land. Yet the LORD called him His servant, for God had given the nations into his hand.
God gave him a dream of a great image, which Daniel by revelation interpreted: the subject was the head of gold, and kingdoms would rise and fall until God set up a kingdom that would never be destroyed.
When he set up a golden image and cast the three Hebrews into the furnace for refusing to bow, he saw a fourth walking with them in the fire, and confessed that no other god could deliver like theirs.
Warned in another dream, the subject was lifted up in pride over the Babylon he had built. In that hour reason left him, and he was driven out to eat grass like an ox until seven times passed over him.
When the days were fulfilled, he lifted his eyes to heaven, his reason returned, and he blessed the Most High, whose dominion is everlasting. He learned that those who walk in pride God is able to humble.
