His first doubt of Nazareth: CAN ANYTHING GOOD COME FROM THERE?
His confession once he was known: YOU ARE THE KING OF ISRAEL
The subject was brought to the Lord by Philip, who said they had found Him of whom Moses and the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth. The subject asked, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" and Philip answered, "Come and see."
As he approached, the Lord said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit." The subject asked how He knew him, and the Lord replied, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
At this the subject confessed, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel." The Lord answered that he would see greater things than these, even heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.
He is named among the Twelve, and is commonly held to be the same called Bartholomew in the other Gospels, where he is paired with Philip who first brought him.
After the resurrection the subject was among the seven by the Sea of Galilee when the Lord appeared and the nets were filled. The record marks him a true Israelite, called and known before he ever spoke.
