The false charge that took Naboth's vineyard: HE HAS CURSED GOD AND THE KING
The subject was a Sidonian princess, daughter of Ethbaal, given in marriage to Ahab king of Israel. She brought the worship of Baal and Asherah into the land, and Ahab served and bowed to Baal because of her.
She cut off the prophets of the LORD, so that Obadiah hid a hundred of them in caves; and when Elijah slew the prophets of Baal at Carmel, she swore to take his life, and he fled into the wilderness.
When Naboth would not sell his ancestral vineyard to Ahab, the subject wrote letters in the king's name, set up false witnesses to charge Naboth with cursing God and the king, and had him stoned, then bid Ahab take possession.
For this the LORD sent Elijah with a word of doom upon the house of Ahab, and against the subject in particular: the dogs would devour her by the wall of Jezreel.
Years later Jehu came to Jezreel. The subject painted her eyes and looked from a window; at Jehu's word her own eunuchs threw her down, and the horses trampled her, and the dogs ate her flesh, so that the word of the LORD by Elijah was fulfilled.
