What he did when Noah lay uncovered: SAW HIS FATHER'S NAKEDNESS AND TOLD IT ABROAD
The word Noah spoke over his son: CURSED BE CANAAN, A SERVANT OF SERVANTS
The subject was a son of Noah, one of the eight carried safely through the flood in the ark when the waters covered the earth.
After the flood Noah planted a vineyard, drank of its wine, and lay uncovered within his tent. The subject saw his father's nakedness and, instead of covering it, went out and told his two brothers.
Shem and Japheth took a garment, walked in backward, and covered their father without looking on his shame, honoring him where the subject had exposed him.
When Noah awoke and knew what his youngest son had done, he cursed Canaan, the son of the subject, saying he would be a servant of servants to his brothers, while he blessed the God of Shem.
From the subject came Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan, and many nations of the ancient world, including peoples that would later oppose Israel; yet all sprang from the household saved by grace through the flood.
