What he cried out during Paul's defense: PAUL, YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND
His verdict on the appeal: TO CAESAR YOU HAVE APPEALED, TO CAESAR YOU SHALL GO
The subject succeeded Felix as governor of Judea and soon took up Paul's long-pending case. The Jewish leaders asked that Paul be sent to Jerusalem, plotting to kill him on the way, but the subject kept the trial at Caesarea.
When Paul was accused and the subject, wishing to do the Jews a favor, asked if he would go to Jerusalem to be judged, Paul appealed to Caesar, and the subject declared he would send him.
Not knowing what charge to write to the emperor, he brought Paul before the visiting king Herod Agrippa, that they might examine him together.
As Paul told of his conversion and the resurrection of Christ, the subject cried out with a loud voice, Paul, you are out of your mind; your great learning is driving you insane.
Paul answered that he was speaking true and rational words, and appealed to Agrippa. Finding no crime deserving death, the subject and Agrippa agreed Paul might have been set free had he not appealed to Caesar, and so he was sent on to Rome.

- The message of the cross seems madness to those without faith.
- Even honest judges can miss the truth they are appointed to weigh.
