Portion of the spirit requested: A DOUBLE PORTION
Wonder after his death: A DEAD MAN REVIVED BY HIS BONES
The subject was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen when Elijah passed and cast his mantle upon him. He slaughtered his oxen, bid farewell to his parents, and followed as Elijah's servant.
When Elijah was taken up in the whirlwind, the subject asked for a double portion of his spirit. He took up the fallen mantle, struck the Jordan, and the waters parted, and the sons of the prophets recognized the spirit of Elijah upon him.
The subject multiplied a widow's oil to pay her debts, restored a Shunammite's son to life, purified a poisoned pot, and fed a hundred men with a little bread.
Naaman, commander of Aram, was cleansed of leprosy after washing seven times in the Jordan at the subject's word. The subject refused all payment, and the disease clung to his grasping servant Gehazi.
The subject foresaw enemy movements, struck an army with blindness, and prophesied deliverance in famine. Even after his death, a corpse thrown into his grave revived on touching his bones.
