Remarks:

The subject was taken captive from Judah to Babylon as a youth and trained for royal service. He resolved not to defile himself with the king's food, and God gave him wisdom and skill in interpreting dreams and visions.

The subject recovered and interpreted a forgotten dream for Nebuchadnezzar, revealing a succession of kingdoms and a stone not cut by human hands. His three companions were preserved unharmed in a fiery furnace.

At a royal feast, the subject read a handwriting on the wall pronouncing judgment on Babylon, which fell that same night. Under the new administration he was elevated, provoking a plot among rival officials.

Accused of praying to YHWH against a royal edict, the subject was cast into a den of lions and delivered unharmed, an angel having shut the lions' mouths. He continued to serve under Persian rule.

The subject received visions of empires, an anointed one, and a resurrection to everlasting life. Portions were sealed until the time of the end. He was told he was greatly beloved.
