What he foretold that moved the church to give: A GREAT FAMINE OVER ALL THE WORLD
How he acted out Paul's future in Jerusalem: BOUND HIS OWN HANDS AND FEET WITH PAUL'S BELT
The subject was a prophet who came down with others from Jerusalem to Antioch. Standing up, he foretold by the Spirit that a great famine would come over all the world, which happened in the days of Claudius.
Hearing this, the disciples at Antioch, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers living in Judea, and sent it by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
Years later, as Paul journeyed toward Jerusalem, the subject came down from Judea to Caesarea where Paul was staying.
He took Paul's belt, bound his own hands and feet with it, and said, Thus says the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt and hand him over to the Gentiles.
The believers begged Paul not to go up, weeping, but Paul was ready to be bound and even to die for the name of the Lord Jesus. When he would not be persuaded, they fell silent, saying, Let the will of the Lord be done, and so it came to pass as the subject had foretold.
