How long he had lain bedridden: EIGHT YEARS, PARALYZED UPON HIS BED

What Peter said to him: JESUS CHRIST HEALS YOU; RISE AND MAKE YOUR BED

Remarks:

As Peter traveled among the churches, he came down to the saints who lived at Lydda. There he found the subject, a man who had been bedridden for eight years, paralyzed and unable to rise.

Peter said to him, the subject, that Jesus Christ was healing him, and told him to rise and make his own bed. Immediately he rose.

The healing was not of Peter's power but in the name of Jesus Christ, a sign that the risen Lord was still at work through His apostles among the towns of the land.

All who lived in Lydda and the plain of Sharon saw the subject restored and walking, and many of them turned to the Lord because of it.

The subject, like others healed in the Acts, is remembered less for anything he did than for what was done to him. His restored body became a testimony that drew a whole region to faith in Christ.
