What she gave the thirsty Sisera: MILK, IN A LORDLY BOWL
The word Deborah sang over her: MOST BLESSED OF WOMEN BE JAEL
The subject was the wife of Heber the Kenite, whose tents were pitched near Kedesh. When Barak routed the army of Sisera at the LORD's word, the captain fled on foot and came to her tent, for there was peace between his king and Heber's house.
She went out to meet him, invited him in, and hid him under a rug. When he asked for water, she opened a skin of milk, gave him drink, and covered him again.
He charged her to stand at the tent door and deny to any pursuer that a man was there, and being weary he fell fast asleep.
Then the subject took a tent peg and a hammer, went softly to him, and drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.
When Barak came pursuing, she went out and showed him the fallen enemy, and so the word of Deborah, that the LORD would sell Sisera into the hand of a woman, was fulfilled. In her song Deborah called the subject most blessed of women.
