Remarks:

The subject, seventh in descent from Adam through the line of Seth, is recorded to have walked with God across the whole of his life. In a generation drifting toward corruption, his conduct stood apart.

Scripture reports that the subject fathered Methuselah and continued to walk with God for three hundred years, fathering sons and daughters.

The subject prophesied concerning a coming judgment, declaring that the Lord would come with ten thousands of his holy ones to execute judgment on all. His words are preserved among the later witnesses.

Unlike the patriarchs recorded before and after him, no death is entered for the subject. The record states simply that he was not, for God took him.

Later witnesses cite the subject as one who by faith was taken up so that he did not see death, and who before his departure was commended as having pleased God.
