Jesus came once as the Lamb. He will come again as the Lion. The first coming - meek, lowly, sacrificial. The second coming - mighty, majestic, conquering.
The same Person. Two different postures. Two different purposes. But both reveal the fullness of who He is.
"Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered... And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain."

- Born in a manger
- Silent before accusers
- Led to slaughter willingly
- Bore our sin
- Died on the cross
- Purchased mercy
- Mighty and majestic
- Descends from heaven
- Roars with authority
- Conquers every enemy
- Judges the earth
- Establishes His kingdom
- Executes justice
A whisper of mercy on Golgotha's hill.
He carried our burden, He tasted our night-
A crown made of thorns for the Giver of Light.
The Shepherd who died so the lost could abide.
He bowed to the grave, yet He shattered its door;
Love walked out alive, undefeated once more.
The heavens will tremble, the earth will divide.
The King on the white horse, His banner unfurled-
Judgment and justice returning to the world.
Truth will arise at the touch of His hand.
The meek once forgotten will lift up their eyes-
For glory will thunder from radiant skies.
The song of creation prepares now to sing.
Mercy once whispered will roar through the air-
The Lamb and the Lion revealed everywhere.
IS THE LION WHO REIGNS
In Revelation 5, John hears about the Lion of the tribe of Judah - the conquering King who has overcome. But when he turns to look, he sees a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain.
This is the mystery of Christ: He is both. The Lion and the Lamb. The Conqueror and the Sacrifice. The Judge and the Savior.
"They are the same Person."
He came as the Lamb - to bear sin, to die for the guilty, to absorb the wrath we deserved. Silent before His accusers. Led to slaughter without opening His mouth. Meek. Gentle. Willing to be broken so we could be healed.
He will return as the Lion - to judge the living and the dead, to establish His kingdom, to make all things right. Roaring with authority. Conquering every enemy. Terrible in holiness. Glorious in power.
The Lamb purchased mercy. The Lion will execute justice. And they are the same Person.
If you meet Him as the Lamb - if you come to Him now, in this age of grace, and receive the mercy He purchased with His blood - then you will greet Him as the Lion with joy. The Lion will be your King, not your Judge.
But if you reject the Lamb, you will face the Lion. And the One who died for you will be the One who judges you. Mercy refused becomes justice deserved.
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already."
He left as a Lamb. He returns as a Lion. The same Jesus. Two different encounters.
Come to the Lamb while there is time. Bow before the Lion when He returns.
