God is the means and the end.
He is not just the destination-He is the journey. He is not just the goal-He is the path. He is not just what you're moving toward-He is how you get there.
This is the paradox of the Christian life: God is both the way and the destination. You don't use God to get somewhere else. You encounter God on the way to encountering more of God.

The beginning and the end are the same Person.
Everything comes from Him and returns to Him.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" - John 14:6
Jesus doesn't just show the way-He IS the way. He doesn't just point to truth-He IS the truth. He doesn't just offer life-He IS the life.
This means salvation is not achieved by following a system, adopting a philosophy, or performing rituals. Salvation is a Person. Jesus is both the means (the way) and the end (eternal life in Him).
You don't use Jesus to get to God. Jesus IS God. The journey and the destination are the same Person.
"For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen." - Romans 11:36
Paul captures the totality of God's sovereignty in three prepositions:
All things originate in Him
All things are sustained by Him
All things exist for His glory
Everything comes from God, operates by God, and returns to God.
He is the beginning, the middle, and the end.
- FROM Him - God is the source. All things originate in Him.
- THROUGH Him - God is the means. All things are sustained by Him.
- TO Him - God is the end. All things exist for His glory.

You were created by Him, you are being sanctified through Him, and you will be glorified for Him. The entire arc of your existence is God-sourced, God-sustained, and God-directed.
God is not a tool. He is not a means to an earthly end. But He is the means to the ultimate end-which is Himself.
Salvation - You are saved by grace through faith in Christ. God is the means of your redemption.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8
Sanctification - You are being transformed by the Spirit. God is the means of your growth.
"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." - 2 Corinthians 3:18
Perseverance - You are kept by His power. God is the means of your endurance.
"Who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." - 1 Peter 1:5
Every step of the Christian life-from start to finish-God is the means. Not your effort. Not your willpower. Not your strategy. God Himself.

- ✓ Strength in His presence
- ✓ Union with God
- ✓ Conformity to Christ
- ✓ Dwelling in His presence forever

- ✓ Glorifying Him eternally
But God is not just the means-He is also the end. The ultimate purpose of everything is not health, wealth, happiness, or success. It's God Himself.
"Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you." - Psalm 73:25
The goal of salvation is not escape from hell. It's union with God.
The goal of sanctification is not moral improvement. It's conformity to Christ.
The goal of glorification is not eternal bliss in some abstract sense. It's dwelling in the presence of God forever.
"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.'" - Revelation 21:3
Heaven is glorious because God is there. Eternity is desirable because we will see Him face to face. The end of all things is not a place-it's a Person.
HE IS THE DESTINATION
Many people treat God as a means to something else:
- "I need God to bless my business."
- "I need God to fix my marriage."
- "I need God to make me successful."
- "I need God to give me purpose."
All of these make God the servant and your desires the master.
They reduce God to a tool for achieving your agenda.

But God is not the means to your end. He IS the end.
When you encounter God, the goal is not what He can do for you. The goal is knowing Him.
"Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord." - Philippians 3:8
Paul didn't seek Christ to get something else. He sought Christ because Christ Himself was the prize.
Stop using God to get somewhere else. He IS the somewhere else.
You don't need God plus blessing. You need God.
You don't need God plus purpose. You need God.
You don't need God plus fulfillment. You need God.
Because God is the means and the end. He is the journey and the destination. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." - Philippians 1:21
Paul's life was Christ. His death would be gain-not because of what he would escape, but because of who he would see.
This is the theology of a life rightly ordered: God as everything. Not God as stepping stone. Not God as resource. Not God as support system.
God as the Alpha and the Omega. The first and the last. The beginning and the end. The means and the goal.
From Him. Through Him. To Him.
