Chosen with six others to serve: TO WAIT ON TABLES / FULL OF THE SPIRIT
The eunuch's question at the water: WHAT PREVENTS ME FROM BEING BAPTIZED?
The subject was one of the seven chosen by the church at Jerusalem, men of good repute and full of the Spirit and of wisdom, appointed to serve the tables so the apostles might give themselves to the word and to prayer.
When persecution scattered the church after Stephen, the subject went down to Samaria and preached Christ. The crowds gave heed with one accord, unclean spirits came out, the lame were healed, and there was much joy in that city.
An angel of the Lord sent him south toward the Gaza road, where he met an Ethiopian official reading Isaiah. The subject ran to him, began at that Scripture, and told him the good news of Jesus.
Coming to water, the eunuch asked, "What prevents me from being baptized?" The subject baptized him, and the Spirit of the Lord carried the subject away, while the eunuch went on his way rejoicing.
He was found at Azotus and preached through the towns until he came to Caesarea. Years later Paul lodged in his house there; he is named the evangelist, and had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
